Each school maintains a 1.0–1.5 full time positions to support intervention needs for all students. Each student in grades 3-6 has 1:1 access to Chromebooks. Director of Pupil Services (Special Education Emphasis) Goleta Union School District – Goleta, CA GUSD is looking for an experienced leader in special education to serve as our next Director of Pupil Services. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in inclusive practices, IEP compliance, and program development for students with disabilities—including those with extensive support needs. This role oversees all aspects of special education programs and collaborates across departments to ensure legal compliance, equity, and high-quality service delivery. The Director also supports Section 504 implementation, student behavior interventions, and related support services. Ideal candidates will have: Experience leading special education teams at the site or district level Deep knowledge of IDEA, FAPE, LRE, and due process Understanding of MTSS, SEL, PBIS, and restorative practices Collaborative leadership style and ability to build capacity across teams Passion for ensuring every student receives what they need to succeed This is a great opportunity for someone ready to lead and innovate in a district deeply committed to inclusion and excellence.
