Job Summary

At IEM, our teachers have a profound impact on student’s’ lives. When they have planned or unplanned absences, we rely on skilled substitutes to fill in. We are currently looking for engaging, reliable substitute teachers to cover our live online classes from pre-kindergarten to high school. In this position, you will take over for full-time or part-time teachers in their absence, carrying out their lesson plans. The ideal candidate will have prior substitute teaching or teaching experience and the ability to lead the class in an orderly fashion. Additionally the ideal candidate will stay organized in meeting students and families and keeping up on the necessary records. The incumbent is expected to remain calm under pressure, work cooperatively with team members and others to provide the highest level of service possible and work in accordance with the Guiding Principles of the organization.

Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: - Education: Bachelor’s Degree - Credentials/Certifications: Teaching or Substitute Teaching Certificate - Required Skills: General competency in core subject areas. Scheduling availability, flexibility, and patience. Confidence and proficiency in giving online and in person instruction. Superb verbal and written communication skills. - Preferred Skills (not required): Bilingual (English/Spanish) REQUIRED DOCUMENTS: - Copy of transcript - Credential copy - Letter of Introduction - Three (3) Letters of Recommendation - Resume Applications will be reviewed as they are received.
