Angels Camp is home to “The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County” made famous by Mark Twain in 1865 and is host of the Annual Jumping Frog Jubilee celebration since 1893. During the Civil War, the town of Copperopolis is known for supplying troops with Copper which was discovered there in 1860. RESPONSIBILITIES Types letters, memoranda, reports, bulletins, handbooks, newsletters, medical notices, and other materials from notes, drafts, or verbal instruction Compiles information from various sources and fills out appropriate forms Reviews documents for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to established procedures Compiles and tabulates statistical data as assigned Serves as receptionist for students, faculty, and the general public Answers inquiries and provides information concerning school programs, events, and procedures Develops and maintains files Operates standard office equipment May perform job related clerical and other support duties as assigned Assists with accountability for daily attendance of all enrolled students by making and receiving calls or notes of student absence from parents and teachers Issues tardy slips allowing students to return to class Inputs student information in computer Maintains student body account Monitors students while in Main Office for disciplinary purposes Monitors, administers, and records student prescription usage and medical needs Effectively communicates and maintains cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work Performs other related duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS Modern office practices, procedures, and terminology First Aid procedures Operates a variety of office machines and equipment Types at a speed of 45 words per minute with accuracy Meets the public and answers phones courteously and effectively Maintains clerical records and prepares simple reports Learns and interprets rules, regulations, and instructions Spells correctly and uses proper English Performs clerical work with speed and accuracy Uses tact, discretion, and confidentiality concerning school matters EDUCATION Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school, including or supplemented by a course in typing and one year of responsible experience in clerical and typing work. WORKING CONDITIONS Typical office environment with constant interruptions and noise Sufficient depth perception to file documents Sufficient hearing (with or without correction) to hear normal and telephone conversations Ability to speak in a voice that can be clearly heard and understood on the telephone and in face-to-face conversations Sufficient dexterity to manipulate small objects, print, or write legibly, operate telephone, use computer keyboard, and other business machines.
