Sky Mountain Charter School (SMCS) is a WASC accredited charter school managed by Innovative Education Management (IEM). The school serves students in San Bernardino, Inyo, Kern, Los Angeles, Orange, and Riverside Counties. Our family of charter schools include South Sutter, Ocean Grove, and Sky Mountain. Job Summary
Job Summary
The School Counselor works to prepare high school students towards graduation and college and career planning through meetings with students, parents, and teachers. The School Counselor develops consistent dialogue, motivational relationships with students/parent-families, promotes school policies and the ‘individualized’ learning procedures. The incumbent will also provide social emotional counseling and support services for some identified students. The incumbent is expected to remain calm under pressure, work cooperatively with team members and others to provide the highest level of service possible and work in accordance with the Guiding Principles of the organization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - Education: Bachelor's degree - Credentials/Certifications: Current Pupil Personnel Services Credential - Experience: No previous school counseling work experience is required, but prior work experience in school counseling is recommended. REQUIRED DOCUMENTS: - Letter of Interest - Current resume - Two (2) Letters of Recommendation - Unofficial copies of credentials, certifications, and/or transcripts reflecting the position requirements.
