Job Summary
Under the supervision from the Site Administrator, or designee, in consultation and cooperation with school and community professionals, assesses and defines problems that interfere with a student’s ability and potential to succeed at school. The Student Services Specialist’s primary function is to plan, coordinate and provide supportive services in the designated schools for students in need. This includes, but is not limited to, the following: students with IEP’s, 504 Plans, behavioral deficits, poor attendance, discord in the home, mental health issues, physical limitations, poverty, distractibility, and other issues that may impact the ability to learn, achieve, and interact in socially acceptable ways. The Student Services Specialist works with students and functions as an intermediary in seeking prevention and solutions to problems that get in the way of learning and personal growth.
Requirements / Qualifications
Associate’s (AA) or Bachelor’s (BA) degree, REQUIRED Certification requires that you have completed 2700 hours (about 16 months of full-time work) or work experience (described as " Experience must be providing direct pre-clinical behavioral health services to children and youth through age 25 in school-linked/school-based organizations, non-profits, community organizations, and/or health centers/clinics within the last six years.").
