The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) serves some of Orange County’s most vulnerable student populations and provides support and mandated fiscal oversight to 28 school districts serving more than 600 schools and approximately 475,000 students. The Orange County Department of Education is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Senior Accounting Technician to join our dynamic Purchasing & Contracts Team in the Administrative Services Division! The Orange County Department of Education's Purchasing & Contracts Department plays a critical role in managing the procurement activities for the organization, ensuring compliance with all relevant Federal and State laws, as well as departmental policies and procedures. This department is tasked with the purchasing and contracting of all supplies, materials, equipment, and services needed by our school programs and internal departments. As a Senior Accounting Technician, you'll dive into the world of finance, managing everything from accounts receivable to general ledger accounts. You'll play a key role in ensuring our school districts and internal departments have the financial support they need to thrive. Whether you're processing invoices, auditing payments, or reconciling budgets, your work will make a real impact on the educational community.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: • Associate’s degree in accounting, business admin, bookkeeping or related field • Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in performing financial or statistical recordkeeping; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience in an educational institution or public agency is especially desirable.

The tests are arranged and paid for by OCDE.
