Education Requirements
Individuals who have completed their education from institutions outside of the United States must provide a complete evaluation of foreign transcripts from an accredited evaluation agency.

Requirements / Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. If you are submitting foreign transcripts please submit a translated version from an accredited agency. • Must have an AA degree or higher or at least 48 semester units of study at an institution of higher education or pass an Assessment Test. • Experience working with children in an educational or child care setting. REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION INCLUDE: • Knowledge of proper language usage, punctuation, spelling and grammar in English and Spanish. • Knowledge of general concepts of child growth and development and child behavior characteristics. • Knowledge of instructional and behavioral strategies used in controlling and motivating students. • Knowledge of routine record keeping and other clerical duties. • Ability to communicate fluently and translate instructional materials and student progress in English and Spanish. • Ability to consider different means of communicating educational ideas and concepts in both English and Spanish. • Ability to assume responsibility for supervising students. • Ability to operate computer and media equipment and use specialized testing and instructional software applications. • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and parents.
