Job Summary
The San Diego County Office of Education is recruiting for two (2) Maintenance and Operations Supervisors for the Maintenance and Operations department of the Business Services division. Under general direction, the Maintenance and Operations Supervisor coordinates, organizes and plans the activities of maintenance and operation services and functions for assigned facilities. ABOUT M&O The Maintenance and Operations Department provides facility planning, project management, and maintenance/operations support for local schools and facilities owned and occupied by the San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE). The Maintenance and Operations staff members keep all aspects of our facilities in safe working order to give our teachers and students the best possible learning environment. The services include: * 15 School Sites * Preventative and Routine Maintenance * Custodial Services * Grounds * Fleet Services * Distribution and Warehousing Operations * Facilities Use (Room Reservations)
Requirements / Qualifications
This position requires the following Education and Experience and Certificates, Licenses, Credentials:
Education and Experience
Education: Completion of advanced vocational training in areas related to maintenance and operations; and,
Experience: Two (2) years of experience performing in a lead capacity in a maintenance and operations unit providing full services in a variety of skilled trades;
-OR-
Equivalency: A combination of education and/or experience equivalent to completion of advanced vocational training in areas related to maintenance and operations, and a minimum of two years of experience performing in a lead capacity in a maintenance and operations unit providing full services in a variety of skilled trades.
Certificates, Licenses, Credentials
- Possession of a valid California driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance are required at the time of appointment.
- Possession of a Freon Handler’s Certification under Section 608 of the federal Clean Air Act is required within six months of appointment.
