Sacramento City Unified School District seeks an inspirational and innovative principal to lead and nurture Phoebe Hearst Elementary School as a high-achieving destination for learning where all families, students, and staff wish to be. This is an opportunity for an innovative leader to craft a clear vision for 21st century learning and establish a culture on the campus where all stakeholders are invested and students are motivated to strive for excellence in a safe, and academically rigorous environment. Phoebe Hearst's new principal will need to be able to understand gaps in growth measures for our students of color and students receiving special education, Universal Design for Learning, and Multi-Tiered System of Supports. Phoebe Hearst's new leader must be an expert in monitoring and evaluating early literacy and high-quality instruction and act courageously and transparently in holding self and staff accountable for high expectations and student outcomes. There must also be focus on accelerated learning for high achieving students and actively assessing instructional practices for GATE identified students and their diverse needs. Finally we seek a site leader who is willing to engage robustly and visibly with not just the school community but also our community partners and has demonstrated strong communication skills. The goal for Phoebe Hearst Elementary Elementary is to create a warm, inclusive and high achieving environment where members of the community are eager to send their students, students are excited to learn, and staff are inspiring children through high-quality programming and practices. Requirements / Qualifications
TRAINING, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE: A bachelor's degree from an approved institution is required. Advanced degrees are preferred. A minimum of five years of certificated experience in public or private schools is required, and preference will be given for additional elementary school teaching experience, administrative, or supervisorial experience at the elementary level. Preference given to bilingual speakers, and expertise in vital programs within individual schools including, but not limited to, STEAM, Montessori, Dual Immersion, Waldorf, etc. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Hold a valid Administrative Services Credential issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing is required.
