Job Summary

The Poway Unified School District is looking for a 66.67% American Sign Language Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. 75% Trimester 1, 75% Trimester 2, and 50% Trimester 3. For more information, please contact Dr. Yael Bozzay, Principal, Mt. Carmel High School, at ybozzay@powayusd.com.

Requirements / Qualifications

The school site will contact applicants directly for interviews. Applicants must submit all required documents to be considered, including a valid teaching credential - this position is not intern-eligible. Required Documents: 1. Copy of California Single Subject Teaching Credential – World Languages: Languages Other than English (American Sign Language).* 2. Current Resume 3. Current Copy of Transcripts (Official transcripts are required upon hiring) 4. Three (3) Letters of Recommendation signed within the last 12 months. It is recommended that at least one (1) come from a supervising administrator. 5. Letter of Intent addressed to Dr. Kelly Burke, Director of Human Resources 6. For phone references, be sure to include the reference's most current cell phone number and email address. 7. All applications must be submitted through EDJOIN; no hard copy documents will be accepted. *Individuals who hold or are able to obtain a CTE Teaching Credential designating Education, Child Development and Family Services as the designated subjects, and who wish to teach a Career Technical Education course at a secondary school may also qualify to meet this requirement. TEACHER INDUCTION: Poway Unified School District offers a teacher induction program to clear the CA preliminary credential to qualified individuals at no cost to the employee.
