The Orientation and Mobility Specialists provide orientation and mobility to individuals with exceptional needs between the ages of birth to twenty-two years, who are identified as having a visual impairment. Requirements / Qualifications
GUSD requires applicants to have: 1. Credential: Valid California Clinical or Rehabilitative Services Credential 2. Education: Master’s degree in Special Education: Orientation and Mobility 3. Experience: Two or more years of experience working with students with visual impairments desired. GUSD is seeking dynamic educators who exhibit: • Knowledge and skills in Specialized Instruction, IEP process and Special Education mandates • Strong pedagogical skills • Breadth of experience in educational technology • Instruction with a 21st Century perspective
Please submit the following: • Letter of Introduction • Resume • Valid California Clinical or Rehabilitative Services Credential • Master’s degree in Special Education: Orientation and Mobility • Three letters of recommendation (preferably within the last 6 months and from at least one direct supervisor) • Transcripts (copies of all college coursework credits, unofficial OK) Applicants must attach all required documents as part of their online application. Unfortunately, Glendale Unified will not accept attachments via fax or email. Once the District has tentatively offered employment, a candidate must submit evidence of freedom from tuberculosis, pre-employment physical exam (district-paid), and fingerprint clearance with the Department of Justice.
