Job Summary

The Orientation and Mobility Specialists provide orientation and mobility to individuals with exceptional needs between the ages of birth to twenty-two years, who are identified as having a visual impairment. Requirements / Qualifications

GUSD requires applicants to have: 1. Credential: Valid California Clinical or Rehabilitative Services Credential 2. Education: Master’s degree in Special Education: Orientation and Mobility 3. Experience: Two or more years of experience working with students with visual impairments desired. GUSD is seeking dynamic educators who exhibit: • Knowledge and skills in Specialized Instruction, IEP process and Special Education mandates • Strong pedagogical skills • Breadth of experience in educational technology • Instruction with a 21st Century perspective

Please submit the following: • Letter of Introduction • Resume • Valid California Clinical or Rehabilitative Services Credential • Master’s degree in Special Education: Orientation and Mobility • Three letters of recommendation (preferably within the last 6 months and from at least one direct supervisor) • Transcripts (copies of all college coursework credits, unofficial OK) Applicants must attach all required documents as part of their online application. Once the District has tentatively offered employment, a candidate must submit evidence of freedom from tuberculosis, pre-employment physical exam (district-paid), and fingerprint clearance with the Department of Justice.
