Job Summary

Position Overview The position teaches self-contained classes from kindergarten through grade five in elementary schools, and/or core classes in grade six in middle school, and other subjects as credentialed, following approved course requirements and adjusting instruction to meet expected student progress. They implement curriculum and instruction in alignment with PLN's mission, emphasizing academic, social, and emotional learning, as well as student wellness. Adhering to the PLN Behavior Support Plan grounded in Restorative Practices, the educator facilitates the resolution of issues involving students and families. They assess student performance frequently and objectively and carry out additional projects and duties as directed by their supervisor. Teacher utilizes designated textbooks and instructional materials. Uses student-specific academic information to plan instruction, designs activities aligned with standards to challenge students cognitively, employs resources that enhance learning and engagement, and collaborates with colleagues to foster a professional school environment. Monitors student learning closely, providing timely feedback to support progress towards learning goals. Establishes a safe and supportive classroom atmosphere where risk-taking and respectful interactions are encouraged. Defines clear behavioral expectations, oversees student conduct, and participates in IEP meetings to develop and implement individualized plans. Adheres to policies for reporting incidents and communicates regularly with families to build partnerships around student learning, reflecting on practice and student work for ongoing instructional improvement.

Open Positions for 2025-26 School Year Elementary School Multiple Subject Teacher Middle School Multiple Subject Teacher Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics Bachelor's Degree in applicable field of education from a regionally accredited college or university.? Holds a current clear Multiple Subject teaching credential with appropriate subject matter authorization in area of assignment issued by the California State Department of Education Commission on Teachers Credentialing. We welcome new teachers yet prefer teachers with any years of experience teaching in a public, charter and/or private school setting. Strong written and oral communication skills in English are required, and we celebrate linguistic diversity, valuing the unique perspectives and strengths that multilingual team members bring to our organization. Travel Requirements: 0 – 10% within Los Angeles County.
