QUALIFICATION OF OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
  • Innovative Instruction: Ability to design and implement engaging, hands-on experiments and activities that bring scientific concepts to life, inspiring critical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Collaboration and Interdisciplinary Approach: Strong skills in collaborating with colleagues across subjects (e.g., math, technology) to create interdisciplinary learning experiences that align with NGSS and encourage connections between science and other fields.
  • Experience in Teaching Grades 6-8: A proven track record of effectively teaching science concepts to students in grades 6 through 8, fostering curiosity and understanding of scientific principles.
  • Experience Supporting English Learners: Expertise in instructional strategies to engage and support English learners, ensuring equitable access to science curricula and promoting both language and scientific literacy.
  • Proficiency with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS): Deep understanding and practical experience implementing NGSS, emphasizing inquiry-based learning and the integration of crosscutting concepts, disciplinary core ideas, and science practices.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Possession of a valid California credential authorizing the teaching of Sciences at the secondary level.
  • CLAD/English Language Learner certification or equivalent is required.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
All employment offers are conditional, based upon the successful completion of the following: Fingerprint/background clearance, and a tuberculosis clearance. A physical examination clearance is required for certain positions for the district.
