Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the director or principal, assist certificated staff in the instruction, supervision and training of individual or groups of high-risk students by performing a variety of training and/or instructional support activities and perform related duties, as assigned. This position provides a variety of instructional/training support activities related to the classroom, learning center, vocational program and other instructional programs. Incumbents may work with non/limited English speaking or special education students.
Requirements / Qualifications
All instructional aides must be Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) compliant through: passage of the Paraprofessional Exam, 48 units of college coursework, or possession of an A.A. Degree. The Lake County Office of Education offers the following benefits to regular classified employees:
• Health and Welfare - annual benefit cap of $17,500 for full-time employees, and part-time employees, 6+ hours per day at a prorated rate. Includes medical, prescription, dental, and vision for employees and all eligible dependents, based on the Tier coverage selected by the employee. Employee's out-of-pocket contribution amount will vary based on the selection; employees may purchase coverage through a 125-cafeteria plan.
• Longevity Pay (Years: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35)
• Paid Sick Leave (96 hours per year/prorated based on service days/hours)
• Paid Holidays (See District Calendar)
• Vacation Pay (15 to 27 days/Yr. depending on years of district service)
• Retirement plan contributions
