Ocean Grove Charter School (OGCS) is a WASC accredited charter school managed by Innovative Education Management (IEM). Job Summary
The Class Based Instructor is a content area expert that provides an educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, and social growth. CBIs will use online and textbook resources to deliver content, but will also need to adapt, differentiate, and scaffold curriculum for students with different learning abilities. The CBI will organize and implement an instructional program that results in student academic success in accordance with school policies, standards, and law. Creativity and productivity are encouraged. The incumbent is expected to remain calm under pressure, work cooperatively with others to provide the highest level of service possible, and work in accordance with the Guiding Principles of the organization.

We are looking for a qualified Single Subject Math instructor. Applicants will need a reliable internet connection for this position. Our instructors work from home, so they must provide their own office space. Instructors must permanently reside somewhere in the state of California. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: > Education: Bachelor's degree Credentials/Certifications: valid single subject teaching credential in the subject area taught Applications will be reviewed as they are received.

We are hiring one part-time position (.50 FTE) that will include Pre Pre Algebra courses.
The unique independent study hybrid online classes offered through the IEM Online Instruction program are designed to provide our students with access to subject-area specific, credentialed instructors to ensure student success with high school level academics. Students meet with the instructor virtually for either 120 mins twice each week (CBi classes) or 90 mins once a week for direct instruction. Students also spend time working outside of class, at home under the supervision of their parents. Instructors and students complete asynchronous assignments and discussions on our school's LMS - Schoology. Class sizes typically range from 12 to 35 students. Students from any of our 3 charter schools (Ocean Grove, Sky Mountain, and South Sutter) can participate in Online Instruction classes.
This past year, over 20 instructors from across the state helped offer nearly 100 different classes in subjects ranging from the academic core (ELA, Math, Social Science, Science) to amazing electives (Spanish, 3D Printing, History of World Religions, etc)! We're a growing program within the IEM broader IEM charter network and will be offering even more classes in future years!
A 1.0 FTE position provides direct instruction for roughly 25 hours a week with the remainder of the workweek devoted to prep, grading, meetings, professional development, etc. Part-time positions are prorated accordingly.
