Job Summary

Job Summary

Excel Academy Charter School is a California Distinguished School! The Virtual Teacher will be responsible for teaching and supporting primary coursework expectations, grading, and facilitating adequate progress in the Common Core state standards per their designated subject area (MATH) and specified virtual grade level 7/8. The Virtual Teacher will have a classroom roster of one or a possible combination of grade level of students. Virtual Teachers will teach, establish pacing, and assess students through grade-level content standards and lessons and assist in other school programs as assigned. This position requires involvement in building the overall school community to promote positive school culture and growth. The Virtual Teacher must be a self-starter with exceptional organizational skills and can work independently to meet all deadlines. We have posted this position in all counties. An earned bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university A valid, current, and appropriate California state Single Subject Math teaching credential Authorization to teach English Learners Two (2) years of education experience. Charter School and Virtual experience preferred. Classroom experience is welcome. Upon hire: State and federal background clearance (LiveScan) to work with students (Education Code Section 44237). No prospective employee can report to work without this clearance being received and Human Resources notifying the immediate supervisor of this clearance Proof of a clear TB test dated within the last 60 days (Education Code Section 49406) upon employment and thereafter updated every four years Copy of Transcript (unofficial transcripts are acceptable) Credential Copy (Single Subject Math) Letter of Introduction Letter(s) of Recommendation (Three current (within 1 year) letters of recommendation, at least one from an immediate supervisor) Resume
