La Cañada Flintridge is home of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Descanso Gardens. Parent participation and involvement in the schools are extensive as evidenced by a robust La Cañada Educational Foundation, which contributes over $2 million annually to the district, the active volunteerism and program support of the PTA at each school site, and the Spartan Boosters at LCHS grades 7-12. Approximately 95% of graduating seniors enroll in post-secondary schools, with students attending their best fit colleges and universities across the nation. All of our schools have been named National Blue Ribbon schools, with Palm Crest and Paradise Canyon Elementary Schools recognized in 2021. La Cañada High School 7/8 was named a National Forum “School to Watch” school four times, most recently in 2023. All LCUSD schools have been designated as California Distinguished Schools, with its three elementary schools recognized again in 2023.

La Cañada Unified School District is seeking to hire a school psychologist intern for the 2025-26 school year. This is an unpaid position that may include more than one school site. Supervision will be provided by at least one credentialed school psychologist.
Requirements / Qualifications
Work Year: This is for the 2025-26 school year, but no start or end date is mandated by the District. Work and observation hours must occur within the hours of the school day. School is in session August 14, 2025 through June 4, 2026. Compensation: This is an unpaid position. Qualifications: 1. Internship eligible in a Pupil Personnel Services credentialing program in School Psychology. 2. Desired: previous experience working with children, especially among populations of students with diagnoses of mental and/or emotional disorders. 3. Bachelor's degree or higher Duties and Responsibilities: As determined by supervising school psychologist(s) including, but not limited to, psychoeducational assessments/report writing/presentation, observations, data collection, goal development, IEP meeting participation, counseling, behavior intervention, academic intervention, and consultation.
