As our 0.5 RSP teacher you would have the following major duties and responsibilities:

  • Direct instruction of students (push-in and pull-out with possibility of co-teaching or teaching a study skills elective)
  • Coordinate instructional planning (i.e., the development and implementation of IEPs and 504s for individuals with exceptional needs) for a caseload of ~14 students.
  • Coordinate the implementation of special education services provided to individuals with exceptional needs including coordinating with additional service provider site visits (OT, ERMHS, etc)
  • Ensure that the team is in full compliance with legal requirements.
  • Monitor pupil progress on a regular basis, participating in the review and revision of instructional programs and evaluate student growth in academic achievement, self-concept, and social skills.
  • Coordinate the input of student data into databases related to the position (SEIS).
  • Identify and assess behavior patterns of pupils and identify resources appropriate to individuals with exceptional needs to regular staff members, parents, and guardians.
  • Coordinates referral and assessment procedures and assists in the coordination of the IEP team meetings.
  • Coordinate special education professional learning workshops and workshops for staff and/or parents.
  • Other duties as assigned.


As the 0.5 Intervention Support & Elective teacher you would have the following duties and responsibilities

  • Teach one elective class per semester
  • Provide intervention services 1-2x a week after school in our study hall block and once a week for an hour during Job Success for students struggling with math or language arts
  • Work with the Director of Academic Programs to provide needed PD and support for teachers

Attend student support meetings and helping provide transition services for a 2-3 seniors annually

 

Requirements / Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree * Possession of a valid Education Specialist Instruction Credential with a specialty in Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Severe issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing is required.
