Position Summary: The Literacy Specialist for Grades 7-12 plays a critical role in supporting student achievement by enhancing literacy instruction and fostering a culture of reading and writing excellence. This position focuses on providing targeted support to students and teachers, with a particular emphasis on meeting the needs of English Language Learners (ELLs). The Literacy Specialist collaborates closely with educators to implement effective literacy strategies, develop differentiated instructional practices, and ensure equitable access to high-quality literacy education for all students.
Requirements / Qualifications
1) Must hold a valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential OR Single Subject Teaching Credential authorizing teaching in assigned classroom/subject matter and the equivalent of CLAD Certification. 2) Certification in literacy, reading, or ESL preferred. 3) Bilingual Preferred (Spanish). 4) Proven experience working with grades 7-12 students, particularly English Language Learners.
