Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Varsity Head Coach for the Monrovia High School Girls Volleyball Program. With direction and supervision of the Principal and/or Athletic Director the applicant: - Must have previous experience coaching or playing volleyball. - Must have a program philosophy and approach to instruct all program levels. - Must be able to teach the intermediate/advances skills of volleyball. - Conduct practices and instruct players regarding volleyball skills and techniques. - Travel to and from away volleyball games. - Supervise volleyball team at all volleyball related activities. - Manage JV and Frosh/Soph coaches on program goals. - Communicate with parents regarding expectations. - Communicate regularly with the Athletic Director and Administration on all issues related to games, practices, players, and parents. All postings/positions are tentative and pending athletics and Human Resources approval. NO COACH IS TO PERFORM WORK SERVICES/ATTEND PRACTICES WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION FROM HUMAN RESOURCES.

Requirements / Qualifications

* Completion of one of the following courses: “Fundamentals of Coaching” course completion certificate, Online Course, available through National Federation of High Schools (www.nfhslearn.com) or "Coaching Principles” completion certificate. Online course, available through Human Kinetics Coach Education Center (http://www.asep.com/courseInfo/purchase_courseinfo.cfm?CourseID=228&OrgID=28) * "Sudden Cardiac Arrest" course completion certificate. Online course available through National Federation of High Schools. (www.nfhslearn.com) * "Concussion in Sports" Online course available through National Federation of High Schools. (www.nfhslearn.com) * "Heat Illness Prevention" Online course available through National Federation of High Schools. (www.nfhslearn.com) * CPR & First Aid: evidence of current certification. MUST be recognized by American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross. (Online Courses Unacceptable) * TB Test: evidence of current negative test OR Adult TB Risk Assessment Form. * Current Driver License at time of employment.
