Vanguard Gifted Academy (VGA) is a micro-school with a truly exceptional model of personalized learning specifically designed to effectively activate our students’ great intellectual capacity by sparking their deep passion for learning. VGA was founded in 2017 by a long-serving educator of gifted children with the mission of GUIDING GIFTED CHILDREN TOWARD A LIFE OF DISCOVERY, EMPOWERMENT, AND INNOVATION. VGA is seeking a talented new Head of School for the 2025-2026 school year who is passionate about the opportunity to be a leader in innovative education for young, gifted children and has the entrepreneurial spirit that will propel VGA firmly into the future. This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic educator-administrator to expand a successful innovative model with their expertise and vision. The successful candidate will be an effective business manager with experience in fundraising, managing a budget, tracking performance metrics, and preparing financial reports. In addition, it is essential to have strong collaborative leadership skills, to build relationships, and to appreciate varying points of view when supporting faculty and engaging with potential and enrolled families. Key attributes include being highly organized, having effective time management skills, and the ability to be analytical and innovative in problem-solving. A passion for and a deep understanding of giftedness is essential to comprehending the unique qualities of the Vanguard model and taking on this leadership role. Gifted children are uniquely driven, curious, and challenge conformity. VGA embraces student autonomy, which is consistent with the self-determination that gifted students need to explore new ideas and overcome challenges as they follow interests and delve deeply into areas of passion.
