About the Employer
We are a unified school district serving more than 16,150 students in grades K -12. We have thirteen elementary schools, four middle schools, two comprehensive high schools, three specialized high schools, two alternative high schools and one K-8 school. We also offer a home schooling program, adult education courses and other unique programs to fit the needs of all students. Our school district employs approximately 1,100 certificated and nearly 900 classified employees. Antioch Unified School District is centrally located in the East Bay and provides ready access to scenic mountains, waterfronts, wine country, historical sites and the Pacific Ocean. The Antioch Unified School District is a Merit System District. As such, final selection of our classified staff members will be made from candidates who have been placed on an eligibility list. Eligibility is determined via an evaluation and competitive screening/scoring of a candidate’s training and experience as demonstrated on the application and responses provided in the supplemental questions.

BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Director of Transportation or designee, will transport students and/or staff to and from school, field trips, sporting events, and other locations as directed; provides supervision and direction to passengers in a non-school bus vehicle.

Unit: CSEA Current Vacancies: 3 Hours/Months: Hours Vary by Bid / 10 Mos. (180 day work year calendar/School Days Only) Salary Range 120: Step A $23.73; Step B$24.93; Step C $26.19; Step D $27; Step E $28.91; Step F $30.37 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: High School diploma or equivalent. Previous experience transporting students and/or adults preferred. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Valid class C driver’s License. DMV Driving Record; Must be insurable under the District’s vehicle insurance policy. CPR and First-Aid certifications. Enrollment in District’s DMV Pull program. Must be able to submit to initial and random drug and alcohol screening. Maintain valid driver’s license.
SELECTION & EXAMINATIONS: The selection process will consist of a competitive application screening for completeness, qualifications, and experience. A written examination (weighted 40%) and an oral interview exam (weighted 60%) will be conducted. A passing score must be achieved on each portion to be placed on the eligibility list. Final selection will be made from those who achieve the three highest ranking scores. Required Strength Testing: All offers of employment are conditional upon the applicant’s satisfactory results of the Post Offer, Pre-Placement Physical Evaluation Program (PEP). This physical strength test helps us select employee candidates that have demonstrated a minimum level of strength to perform the essential functions of the job.
