POSITION DESCRIPTION: Under general supervision, provide occupational therapy services to special education students in accordance with Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals; assist in the case management of services to students; maintain records and documentation on students; perform related duties as assigned. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: E = Essential Duties The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. Upon written referral, evaluate students using standardized tests, observations and/or clinically derived surveys in areas including sensory processing, perceptual -motor skills, motor coordination, self-care, muscle strength and range of motion, postural reflexes, need for adaptive devices and prostheses and vocational skills E; based on evaluation results, design treatment programs aimed at improving the above areas of function, as they relate to a child's educational needs E; develop goals and objectives as part of the child's IEP E; p rovide direct therapy and/or consultation in order to meet these goals E; provide in-service and training for instructional staff and p are nts E; o rd er s p ecial ized eq uip ment f o r p up il use a s ap p ro p riate E; make ad ap ta tio ns f o r eq uip ment a nd instructional/communication materials, as appropriate E; serve as liaison with medical community and other service providers, such as California Children's Service (CCS), as needed E; comply with North Region SELPA and Albany USD Board Policies and Administrative Regulations E; perform related duties as required E KNOWLEDGE OF: Child development principles, including intellectual, sensory, social, and emotional growth patterns and physical development of children; educational and developmental needs of children with disabilities; fund
