Available shift: Monday - Friday, 2p-10p, Full-Time, 40 hours (Also hiring part-time On Call) For any employee working in an LVN role at the San Diego Center for Children, we have an Educational Reimbursement Program that is set up to help with student loans or tuition. SUMMARY The primary purpose of this role is to support youth and multidisciplinary staff in the practice of psychiatric services in an outpatient clinic setting. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to the Program Manager and Program Psychiatrist, this position provides the appropriate nursing services within the scope of practice by the California Board of Licensed Vocational Nursing. Maintains awareness of the comfort and safety needs of youth. Ensure the personal hygiene and the performance of disease prevention and takes restorative measures. Observes clients; records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies Program Manager and Psychiatrist of the client’s condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents. Responsible for the determination of whether such signs, symptoms, reactions, behavior or general appearance exhibit abnormal characteristics; and implementation based on observed abnormalities, or appropriate reporting, or referral, or standardized procedures. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High School diploma or equivalent Must have Vocational Nurse License BLS/CPR for healthcare providers Must be 21 years of age PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university 6 months - 1 year of medication administration experience Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR) Stand First Aid Cerner trained (by San Diego County)
