Job Summary
Aspen invites passionate and creative educators to apply for the 2025/2026 school year art teacher position. The Art Teacher will provide high-quality Visual Art instruction using a variety of art mediums and techniques in 2D and 3D art projects, including ceramics. Your instruction will include studying artists, art history, and cultural art. The art teacher will play a pivotal role in each child's development and contribute to creating a well-organized, highly effective school environment. The art teacher will also participate in art fundraisers and organize the end-of-the-year open house and art show. Responsibilities of Aspen teachers will include but are not limited to: Encourage student academic achievement and leadership development Create a positive, achievement-oriented, structured learning environment that excites and invests students. Develop and maintain an active, creative, standards-based art curriculum. Know different art genres to teach various art styles and techniques, including ceramics. Communicate concrete and abstract concepts to cultivate creativity. Support and guide students during transitions, field trips, and school events, ensuring a positive and respectful environment. Exemplify Aspen’s core values in all interactions with students, families, and colleagues. Participate in professional learning, development, and growth. Coordinate art projects with classroom teachers in conjunction with level curriculum to enhance student learning (Common Core: Communication, Collaboration, Critical thinking, and Creativity) Attend all professional development, team planning, and data analysis meetings. Participate enthusiastically in structured and informal learning and development opportunities. You may be asked to help with other duties as assigned based on your campus' needs.
Requirements / Qualifications
Strong classroom management and organizational skills High level of personal organization and planning. Team player: maturity, strong work ethic, good attendance, follow-through, willingness to respond positively to feedback from supervisor. Strong belief in the Aspen mission and educational model. Mastery of and enthusiasm for the subject matter. Two years of teaching experience is preferred. Bachelor’s degree with a GPA of at least 3.0 from a competitive college or university; Master’s degree preferred. California teaching credential or in the process of obtaining a credential
