Job Summary

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Executive Director, Special Education or designee, conduct comprehensive functional behavioral analysis leading to the development of behavior intervention plans, for students with behavioral, mental health, learning, and social-emotional challenges within Ventura County Office of Education school programs; develop and maintain a continuum of positive behavior intervention services and activities through general and/or special education settings; analyze behavior from a functional perspective and develop positive daily interventions; provide coaching, technical assistance, training, consultation and assessments to Ventura County Office of Education staff and families in support of the assigned population of students with maladaptive behaviors; effectively present complex information regarding positive behavior intervention strategies, behavioral assessment, implementation training and on-site coaching related to the development and implementation of behavior intervention plans to staff; provide and model behavioral interventions with students with disabilities; collaborate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team in support of Ventura County Office of Education programs and other service providers including county public health and behavioral health providers; attend Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings and other student planning meetings.

Requirements / Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: Master's degree in behavioral science, psychology, education or related field, and a minimum of five years of job-related experience working with students with disabilities and behavior disorders. Successful candidate will have experience with independently conducting Functional Analysis of Behavior reports, and Behavior Intervention Plan development and implementation, and experience with providing staff development, parent/family trainings, and in-class coaching for staff specifically related to addressing the needs of students with intense social-emotional/behavioral challenges. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree official transcripts are required upon employment Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Certification Valid California driver's license. Must be certified, or become certified, by the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) in non-violent crisis interventions (NCPI) as a trainer.
