This application is for new and reactivating substitutes to register on the county-wide substitute consortium pool for consideration to be hired by Marin county districts as a substitute teacher. Upon submitting an application for the county-wide substitute teacher consortium pool, the applicant agrees for the Marin County Office of Education to share the applicant's information with the employing school districts. Please upload the below requirements. Incomplete submissions cannot be processed. General Education substituting involves implementing lesson plans or current work in an elementary, middle, and/or high school setting in a collaborative teaching environment. Special Education substituting involves providing individualized and small group specialized instruction while serving in a special day class setting to students with mild to moderate support needs or moderate to severe support needs.
Requirements / Qualifications
To register or reactivate on the county-wide substitute list, the following is required. Those reactivating on the county-wide substitute list, typically, need to complete requirements 2 - 6 below. 1. Fingerprint background checks (live scan forms) for the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) and the Marin County Office of Education (MCOE) (do not upload or email - keep for your records) 2. Valid, non-expired California Teaching Credential or California Substitute Permit (review job description on how to obtain a sub permit) 3. TB Clearance within the last 60 days of your application (Upload to EdJoin) 4. Three online Keenan Trainings (Upload to EdJoin) 5. Completed sub preferences sheet (Upload to EdJoin) 6. Upon submitting an application for the county-wide substitute teacher consortium pool, the applicant agrees for the Marin County Office of Education to share the applicant's information with the employing school districts. After we receive your application you will receive an email from Kimberly, Personnel's HR Tech, about scheduling a remote meeting for MCOE to obtain additional required information. Make sure to review the job description for detailed information about each requirement. Once MCOE has a completed application, which includes the applicant holding a valid, non-expired California teaching credential or sub permit, the applicant will be added to the system and receive a registration confirmation email from either Kimberly (HR Tech) or Amy (Credentials Analyst). Upon receiving the registration confirmation email, the applicant must connect and register with the employing school district(s). The sub rate sheet, which includes the contact information, is available on the Marin schools website (see job description for link).
