Job Summary

Job Summary

Instruct adult students 18 years of age and older who are enrolled at the Lake County Adult School in a variety of areas, with an emphasis on high school diploma completion. Support High School Diploma students in developing or articulating both academic and career goals, and tailor individual instruction to connect it to students’ interests and goals. Assess student academic skill levels and support students in making skills gains. Additional instruction beyond high school diploma completion could vary based on student and program needs and could include but is not limited to English as a Second Language and Citizenship. The Lake County Adult School offers a variety of educational modalities, including individual, small-group, and whole-group instruction and, in some instances, remote independent study. The Adult Education Instructor will engage in programmatic activities including but not limited to student outreach, intake of new students, transcript review, and data collection and entry. The instructor will actively collaborate with LCOE team members, other education providers, and providers of student supports and services to ensure that students are accessing relevant opportunities and receiving needed support. The instructor will report to the site administrator of the Lake County Adult School.

Requirements / Qualifications

Education and Experience: Education: • Hold or be eligible for a valid Preliminary or Clear California Multiple Subject, Single Subject, or Special Education teaching credential with CLAD; Bilingual authorization preferred. Experience: • Three years of successful teaching experience, preferably educating adults.
