Job Description: Under the supervision of a licensed Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP), a Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) assists in providing speech and language therapy for students with communication needs in the school-based setting. Essential Functions - Assists a Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) in implementing speech and language therapy designed to meet the individual communication needs of eligible students, in accordance with school policies and procedures, IEP goals, and the treatment plan prescribed by an SLP. - Assists in the development, implementation, and use of authorized multimodal communication techniques, materials, and resources. - Manages the use of Assistive Technology (AT) devices, including installation, distribution, and resolving technical issues. - Collaborates with school medical staff to coordinate medical care protocols and acts as a resource to school staff in interpreting speech and language therapy. - Supports teachers in identifying, selecting, and modifying instructional material and curriculum to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds and learning styles. - Participates in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to assist with presenting assessment results and progress reports; provides for continuous evaluation of students’ progress toward IEP goals; adequately prepares students, parents, and school staff for a transition phase of services once students’ eligible for service completion and dismissal are identified by an SLP. - Maintains accurate and timely student data in school-approved software systems. - Uses school-approved behavior modification techniques to implement 504 plans, Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) programs, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) programs, and IEP goals. - Communicate with families to create a partnership around student success by providing information about the speech and language therapy program and the progress of t

Required Documents: - Letter of Introduction - Resume - 2 Current Letters of Recommendation - Valid California Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license. - Live Scan and TB Clearance once hired Education and/or Experience: - An Associate degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant and/ or a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant certificate - Must maintain a valid Speech-Language Pathology Assistant certificate through continuing education units. - One or two years experience teaching students with exceptional needs. - Knowledge of the subject area and current instructional methodologies, technology, and techniques associated with Speech and Language Pathology - Experience giving standardized assessments and interpreting the results. - Experience writing reports for assessments and program evaluations. - Experience with evaluating goals and objectives for IEPs. Licenses/Certificates: - Valid California Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license. - TB Test clearance - Department of Justice (DOJ) clearance
