Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Child Nutrition Services Director, the cook will create, prepare and cook food in large quantities according to established recipes, menus, and government and nutritional guidelines; serve food in a central kitchen or other food facilities as well as plan, organize, participate and supervise in the preparation of serving hot food; assist in maintaining food service facilities, equipment, and utensils in a clean and sanitary condition; perform cashiering, point of sale transactions, record-keeping duties; conduct inventory and perform routine functions of child nutrition services operations as required.
