The Business, Facilities, & Operations Division is now accepting applications for the position of Manager - Payroll Services. The Manager - Payroll Services will, plan, direct, coordinate, and supervise the payroll operations and activities of the Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE); oversee and audit the preparation, processing and maintenance of the SCCOE's payroll to assure employees are paid accurately, timely and in accordance with established requirements; assure proper completion of tax, retirement plans and other reports; supervise, train and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel; perform other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate
  • Has a strong grasp of K-12 payroll procedures, rules and regulations and possesses outstanding communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Has a strong understanding of CalSTRS and CalPERS retirement system regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Has the ability to work under pressure and meet critical deadline requirements.
  • Has the supervisory experience necessary to coordinate the activities of the department, provide training to staff and supervise the activities of assigned personnel.
  • Is a positive problem solver and team player with the ability to solve issues and make recommendations.
This position is full-time, in-person and has a work year of 12 months per year, 261 days, 8 hours per day. Leadership team members are eligible to receive a $2,500 annual stipend for a master’s degree and a $2,500 additional stipend for a doctorate, provide official documentation is submitted.
