The Durham Intermediate School Principal / Curriculum & Instruction Facilitator will be responsible for the following: * Leadership and analysis to improve student performance, program effectiveness and sustained school wide continuous improvement. * Insure implementation and evaluation of district-approved curricular programs. * Supervision and evaluation of all personnel to provide regular feedback to employees regarding performance. The ability to recognize exceptional performance and provide assistance to staff in areas of need. * Identify and provide necessary professional development opportunities for staff in order to guarantee ongoing professional growth of organization. * Develop master schedule of courses and provide for the appropriate assignment of personnel and students. * Assist staff in the analysis of student performance data and support staff collaboration opportunities to analyze student performance data. * Attend and participate in all site IEPs and demonstrate competency in the area of special education services, programs and processes. Work closely with special education personnel, including the school psychologist, iand parents in the development of appropriate IEPs for each student. * Support, understand and insure that differentiated instructional strategies are used in all classrooms to meet the needs of all learners. * Develop annual Single Plan for Student Achievement in collaboration with the school staff and community. The plan will include specific goals and outcomes based upon a complete and thorough analysis of the present levels of academic performance. * Support and provide a safe and orderly school campus. Possess skills and abilities to support a positive discipline methodology and school climate. * Assist with the selection of all new personnel (screening, interviewing). * Manage and allocate all resources to best meet identified goals. This includes, but is not limited to, preparation and monitoring of school site budgets; applying for appropriate grant funding to support school and district goals; communication of budget / spending status to school and district staff and community; assurance that site funds are expended appropriately at the site; supporting innovative programs through assignment of current resources and the pursuit of other sources of funding. * Delegate and assign opportunities for leadership and development to staff as appropriate. * Develop effective teams to work on a variety of site and district designated tasks in order to improve overall effectiveness and performance. * Provide leadership to parents and community through School Site Council, Parent Teacher Club (PTS), activities and events in the community / school and community meetings. Maintain a high level of visibility on the campus and in the community. * Work with the administrative team to support district and school goals at each site. * Assist with planning and coordination of specific, ongoing opportunities for collaboration between the Intermediate, High and Elementary School staffs in all core curricular areas. * Work closely with fellow administrators and school staff members to articulate seamless transition for students between all grade levels - K-12. * Develop and support Professional Learning Communities at the school site as well as within the district. Participate in and provide learning opportunities for staff to develop skills in the area of collaboration, data analysis, instructional expertise and curriculum alignment and articulation. * Adjunct duties as assigned necessary to the effective operation of the school and district.
