The El Dorado County Office of Education is looking for a talented individual to join our Charter Adult Education Team! If you are interested in working with the justice involved population and you like to make a difference, then this opportunity may be for you! EDCOE’s goals with the justice involved population are to decrease recidivism, create new opportunities to change life trajectory, decrease the involvement with the criminal justice system, and help build infrastructure at the community level to promote long-term safety and opportunity in El Dorado County. This position is part-time in the jail and part time providing Adult Ed services to members of the community in collaboration with the ADVANCE program through Lake Tahoe Community College. Community Adult Ed students are referred to Adult Ed from ADVANCE and guided by the teacher toward their academic goals.
Requirements / Qualifications
This vacancy is for our South Lake Tahoe Jail site Essential Job Functions: - Prepare materials and provide instruction to adult learners in the custody setting. - Prepare and submit requested reports in an accurate and timely manner. - Participate in appropriate developmental and organizational activities. - Adhere to and maintain security and safety measures. - Work with other staff including administrative, counseling, clerical and other instructors. - Other related duties as assigned Qualifications: Preferable experience in Alternative Adult Education and in a correctional environment as well as case management and group facilitation. Education: Valid California Teaching Credential.
