Long Beach Community College District is seeking qualified individuals for an opportunity as Senior Administrative Assistant. There is one vacancy currently available within our Fiscal Services department. There may be additional vacancies that become available in other departments. This incumbent will need to have specialized knowledge of office administrative and management practices and procedures. We are looking for someone who has obtained an Associate's degree in a related field. Additionally, this candidate must have four years of increasingly responsible office administrative or secretarial experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
The successful candidate will need to:
• be adaptable and flexible
• be a creative problem solver
• exhibit exceptional customer service skills, business communication, project management, and organizational skills
• have the ability to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders across the District and lead a diverse team
• assist district staff, including, but not limited to, accounting, budget, accounts payable, payroll and cashier's office
• be able to compile data to prepare board agenda items
• be familiar with creating and routing AdobeSign documents for approvals
• be familiar with Microsoft Office, web content editing, Adobe/PDF, PeopleSoft, and other software.

• Salary: Range 31 (AFT), $5,286.01 - $6507.94 monthly
• Eligibility list: Will be valid for 12 months once approved or ratified by the Personnel Commission. We reserve the right to use the established eligibility list for vacancies (permanent and temporary) in this classification as well as related classifications.
• Advanced salary placement: Generally, new employees start at the first step on the salary schedule. Advanced salary placement may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Under general supervision, performs a variety of complex, sensitive and confidential office administrative support functions for a Dean, Director or an executive at that level; and performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
Education, Training and Experience:
An Associate's degree in a related field and four (4) years of increasingly responsible office administrative; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements: May require a valid California driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the College's vehicle insurance policy.
Meeting the minimum requirements of the position does not guarantee advancement in the selection process. Candidate qualifications will be assessed to determine those who meet and exceed requirements, and are deemed most competitive amongst the applicant pool to proceed.
