BASIC FUNCTION: The job of Outreach/Recruiter was established for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional program with specific responsibilities for identifying and recruiting students; managing the Student Record System and its components for identified district schools; and fostering the ongoing partnership between the home and school. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: • Collaborates with a variety of groups and/or individuals (e.g. community organizations/agencies, district personnel, health department, state agencies, etc.) for the purpose of developing, implementing, evaluating and maintaining services and/or programs. • Communicates with students and parents on behalf of school (e.g. attendance and homework issues, available programs/services, completing paperwork, financial aid, medical/health issues, etc.) for the purpose of conveying information about school district enrollment functions and ensuring that an ongoing partnership between the home and school is formed. • Compiles student/family information for a variety of uses for the purpose of providing information to determine eligibility for services. • Conducts Case Management Interviews with families new to the district with children ages 3-21 for the purpose of reviewing the needs of the family, providing information on services and programs, and referring families to appropriate agencies. • Coordinates with district and school staff for the purpose of scheduling Parent Advisory Councils (PAC) during the school year. • Coordinates home visits and parent meetings for the purpose of recruiting and increasing program awareness. Maintains and monitors enrollment to identify trends that lead to informed decision-making. • Organizes a variety of activities (e.g. parent education and engagement, appointments with other agencies, parent teacher conferences, etc.) for the purpose of promoting involvement in the educational process and attendance.
