Updated: Looking to fill the position through the end of this school year and/or 2025/26 school year. POSITION: SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST DEFINITION: Under supervision of the Director of Special Education & Executive Director, the Speech Language Pathologist teaches individuals with a variety of disabilities with areas of need in communication, speech and/or language. The specialist provides instruction to promote the academic, communication, language, and social needs of students. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Individual may not perform all the duties listed, nor do these examples necessarily include all responsibilities of position.) • Screen students and accept referrals in accordance with established program procedures. • Assess, design, and provide instruction to learners with identified special needs individually or in small groups. • Develop assessment plans, administer assessments, and interpret student performance on informal and formal assessments. • Prepare written reports as required. • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with parents, guardians, teachers, and members of the school site special education team. • Meet with parents and team members on a regular basis to review student progress and work on individual educational-related needs. • Collaborate with members of the special and general education staff to develop and maintain standards for curriculum access and progress. • Participate in professional growth activities such as conferences, workshops, staff meetings, and visitations. • Schedule and maintain individual and group therapy sessions in accordance with student needs and IEPs. • Provide training, direction, and supervision for assigned ancillary staff. • Make and/or recommend appropriate environment modifications needed to facilitate students’ access to general education curriculum and instruction. • Request materials and supplies in a timely manner in accordance with established district

Harvest Ridge currently serves students with speech needs approximately 15 hours per week. The way the current schedule is built, this happens primarily on Mondays & Tuesdays on both of our campuses located less than 1 mile apart.
SLPs will be placed on the 2024/2025 Certificated Salary Schedule, prorated based on the number of days/hours worked as well as student caseload.
