Looking to make a meaningful impact? Join LACOE as an Employee Assistance Program Specialist! The position offers counseling and resource referrals for LACOE employees and participating districts through the Employee Assistance Service for Education (EASE) program. They address personal concerns affecting job performance and consult with organizational leadership on EASE services.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education: A master’s degree in counseling, marriage and family counseling, social work, psychology, or other related field that would qualify for licensure as stated below, from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Experience: Three years of experience in general counseling, two years of which are in employee assistance counseling. Additional Requirements: Valid licensure or license eligible through the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) or valid licensure as a psychologist through the California Board of Psychology is required. Verification of current continuing education units in clinical supervision through the California Board of Behavioral Sciences will be required upon licensure. Experience working with educational agencies is preferred. Certification as an employee assistance professional (CEAP) by the National Association of Employee Assistance Professionals is desired. A valid California driver’s license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to obtain transportation between job sites is required. Positions in this class may work non-traditional working hours and be required to provide after-hours coverage to assist employees on an as-needed basis.
