Job Summary
Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Innovation and Engagement, the Director, Learning Systems and Supports (LSS) serves as the liaison between school districts, community, and governmental agencies as these groups collaborate strategically to implement systems in support of the whole child including, but not limited to, expanded learning time, integrated student supports, collaborative leadership practices, and active family and community engagement. The Director is responsible for the leadership, direction, and supervision of staff and programs in the LSS Department and related projects, serving as the lead administrator for the department. The Director serves as a resource and maintains an elevated level of knowledge in projects such as the California Community Schools Partnership Program (CCSPP), Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI), Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS), Multi-tiered System of Support (MTSS), and Early Learning and Development. The Director is knowledgeable about state and federal mandates. The Director administers countywide initiatives outlined in the Cradle to Career Roadmap. This position reports directly to the Assistant Superintendent, I & E Branch.
Requirements / Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Possession of a valid California Administrative Services Credential; • Possession of a valid California Teaching Credential; • Possession of a Master’s Degree in Education or a related field, from an accredited college or university; • Five (5) years of experience as an administrator in at least two of the three categories of school, district, or county administrator-level positions; • Experience leading curriculum development and professional development planning and implementation; • Experience in site or district plan development; • Experience in overseeing professional development for teaching diverse student populations.
