Ocean Grove Charter School (OGCS) is a WASC accredited charter school managed by Innovative Education Management (IEM). Job Summary
Job Summary
The Special Education Program Specialist is responsible for assisting and enhancing the work of the Special Education Teachers in the area of special education practices and promoting the conceptual, intuitive, and personal skills necessary for their professional development. The goal of this position is to provide direct support for the special education department in the maintenance of a compliant and collaborative special education program. Possesses the ability to implement leadership skills and strategies to create an environment of safe collaboration and communication with all staff working across departments for the betterment of the school programs. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that IEP meetings and IEP documents are compliant with federally mandated regulations in the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEIA, 2004) and portions of the CA Education Code pertaining to students with exceptional needs. The incumbent is expected to work cooperatively with school administration to support one another and the organization as a whole.
Requirements / Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Masters Degree in Education or equivalent experience Credentials/Certifications: Possession of a Clear Teaching Credential Experience: Three (3) years of related experience serving special education students Administrative Services Credential is preferred.
