BASIC FUNCTION: Under the supervision of the Home Based Supervisor or other program administrator, facilitate healthy parent-child attachment and relationship- building, provide or arrange for comprehensive Head Start services (including education, health and safety, family support, nutrition, mental health, family engagement, and other services appropriate) for up to twelve (12) assigned families of prenatal, infant, toddler, and preschool children served in the home based option.

AA/AS Degree Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field is required including a minimum of 24 units in any combination of Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field.
3 units infant/toddler development is required and may be included in or in addition to the aforementioned 24 units.
SB 792 (Mendoza) law:
Immunization Requirements: Influenza Vaccination, Measles and Pertussis required prior to employment with SCOE.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
California Child Development Teacher Permit or higher level permit required.
Completion of agency-sponsored home-based curriculum certification within 24 months of hire required.
Pediatric CPR/First Aid Certification (Online classes not accepted)
Valid California Driver’s License.
Be insurable and maintain insurability.
Certification in Program for Infant/Toddler Care modules is desirable.
BENEFITS: A Benefit Entitlement for health, dental and vision coverage is available for positions that are at least 4 hours per day. The amount of the entitlement is based on the number of hours worked per day.
