BASIC FUNCTION: Perform work on major architectural drafting projects or independently perform difficult and complex drafting tasks for facilities new construction, remodeling and site development projects. There are currently two (2) 40-hour per week, 12-month Architectural Drafting Technician positions available working at the Facilities Planning and Construction Department. Location: 4860 Ruffner Street San Diego CA 92111. Qualifies for District Paid health and wellness benefits for employee and dependents.
Requirements / Qualifications
This is a promotional/open opportunity, which means that current monthly-salaried employees receive precedence over other candidates on the eligible list. This list will be active for three (3) months with the possibility to be extended. For a promotional/open posting, the top ten internal applicants will be provided unless there is an insufficient number and then the list will be supplemented with the top external applicants to make up the ten (Employment Regulations for the Classified Service of the San Diego Unified School District: Article 2, Section 9).

Minimum Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to graduation from high school, including or supplemented by courses in architectural drafting, and four (4) years of progressively responsible paid work experience in architectural drafting. A bachelor’s degree awarded from an accredited college or university with a major in architecture or engineering may be credited towards the required work experience.
