Summary/Objective Assist the Principal in the administration of instructional leadership to staff including: curriculum planning, review and implementation; and professional development. Responsible for day-to-day building administration and the safety and welfare of students, staff and activities. Ensure a safe, pleasant and effective educational atmosphere. Ability to apply knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects. Ability to apply knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, evaluation, and corrective action. Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Ability to work through complex problems, evaluate options, and implement solutions. Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and verbal form. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Supervisory Responsibility In conjunction with the school principal, carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the district's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.           Required Certifications/Licenses Arizona Standard Professional Principal, PreKindergarten-12 Certificate Valid driver's license Preferred Education and Experience Administrative experience in a school environment Work Authorization/Security Clearance Must be able to pass a criminal history check and obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card with an IVP number through the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
