Food Service Equipment & Technology Support Technician at Nutrition Services at Lodi Unified
Requirements / Qualifications
BASIC FUNCTION: Provides ongoing maintenance to the department equipment, computer hardware, and software. Works with the District’s Technology Services, Maintenance and Operations, and contracted vendors to diagnose and solve kitchen equipment and computer related problems; supports the Child Nutrition Program with advanced information technology - including computers, computer software programs and food safety monitoring devices. Conducts and assists with in-service education and training on the department’s equipment and technology maintenance programs. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: KNOWLEDGE OF: Operation of various personal computer hardware and software systems. Hardware and software installation procedures. Appropriate diagnostic procedures and tools. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy. Oral and written communication skills. Data conversion techniques. Technical aspects of field specialty. Basic electrical Minor Maintenance Basic Mechanical Aptitude ABILITY TO: Perform technical duties in the installation of District-approved computer software and hardware. Assist end users with computer-related software and hardware problems. Conduct or assist with in-service education and introductory training on software operations. Prioritize and schedule work. Explain and interpret computer programs to end users. Maintain current knowledge of technological advances in the field. Learn upgraded technology and software programs. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. Meet schedules and timelines. Work independently with little direction.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Any combination equivalent to: high school diploma or equivalent supplemented by college-level course work in computer science or related field and increasingly responsible experience in kitchen equipment preventive maintenance, electrical and mechanical maintenance, personal computer operations, installations and/or repair.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS / CERTIFICATES: Valid California driver’s license If selected for the position, out-of-district applicants must be T.B. tested and fingerprinted. A practical skills test may be administered at the time of interview.
