Elizabeth Pinkerton began her career with Elk Grove Unified School District in 1962 as a seventh-grade teacher. She served as a teacher and administrator at elementary, middle and high schools in Elk Grove before becoming the director of State and Federal Programs. Known for her innovation in education, she is a distinguished educator at local, state, and national levels. As a local historian, she is a published author on Elk Grove history and writes a column for the Elk Grove Citizen. During her 40 years in education she worked hard planting and nurturing the seeds for a quality education for all students in the Elk Grove Unified School District. Elizabeth Pinkerton Middle School will provide all students with a high-quality education in a safe, socially enriching, physically challenging, and academically rigorous learning environment that prepares and encourages them to reach their greatest potential as responsible citizens.
