PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: LAUNCH is a model behavioral, language, play, and sensory based program designed to provide instruction and services to three and four year old preschool children to help prepare them for Kindergarten entry. The classrooms are non-categorical in that the children have a wide range of abilities. Each classroom has 15 students with the support of three paraeducators. The LAUNCH staff is multi-disciplinary consisting of psychologists, speech & language pathologists, ASSISTT staff, occupational therapists, program specialist, secretary, educational assistants, parents, and adapted PE staff. This is a special day class teaching position. JOB REQUIREMENTS: A strong interest in learning about early childhood instruction and intervention, ability to work collaboratively with other staff and disciplines, attend monthly professional growth seminars, attend regular staff and curriculum development meetings, desire to learn and perform preschool assessments, write IEPs, and co-teach extended day programs. Our existing team of excellent LAUNCH staff will provide training, coaching and support in all of the above listed job duties. We train on site! SCHOOL DAY: Full day assignment including teaching an afternoon class with additional duties in the morning including conducting initial transdisciplinary assessments and teaching an extended day program.

Must possess a valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential with Early Childhood Special Education credential. Must have CLAD or ELA. CBEST (or other qualifying basic skills requirement as outlined by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing) is required.

  • English Learner Authorization (ELA1, ELAS, ELAE, ELAM)
  • Letter of Introduction

  • Test Results/Materials (CBEST or other Basic Skills Requirement)
