California Private Teachers is seeking an ELA teacher for a family living in San Leandro, CA. The family has two daughters who are in 4th & 8th grade. The private teacher will primarily support and teach ELA subjects (reading & writing) at both grade levels. The daughters are enrolled in a private school in Florida, THE KING'S ACADEMY, that provides a hybrid curriculum. The private teacher will be responsible for developing and adapting the curriculum, while incorporating interactive, hands-on learning opportunities that are both dynamic and engaging. *All instructional hours will take place in-person at the family’s schoolhouse in San Leandro. The Private Teacher must have a keen interest in alternative and progressive education, knowledge and experience teaching elementary and middle school students, and the ability to create learning plans that are tailored to each student's unique needs, interests, and academic growth. Knowledge of asynchronous and synchronous learning will be important during times that the family is traveling. While working in collaboration with the parents, THE KING'S ACADEMY, and California Private Teachers, the private teacher must be able to foster an individualized, enlivening, and holistic educational experience.

Curriculum Development: Plan instruction that aligns with THE KING’S ACADEMY curriculum, but also supplement the provided curriculum with experiential, project-based, and personalized learning. Lesson Planning: Prepare and deliver daily lesson plans that foster a love and curiosity for learning. Individualized Instruction: Provide one-on-one instruction and support, adapting teaching methods to accommodate each student’s learning pace and style. Progress Monitoring: Assess and track each student’s academic progress, providing regular feedback to parents and adjusting teaching strategies as needed. Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with the students’ parents, providing updates on progress, discussing goals, and addressing any concerns. Professional Development: Stay current with educational best practices and innovative teaching methods through ongoing professional development and collaboration with THE KING’S ACADEMY and California Private Teachers. *Credential Requirements: Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in Education (Master's preferred) Applicants must have experience teaching ELA subjects Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience Applicants must currently reside or be willing to relocate/commute to the San Leandro area to provide in-person instruction 4 days each week for 4-5 hours daily between the hours of 10am-3pm
