The free, short application for the MCOE - Alder GSE Teacher Residency at Alder GSE is now open! ALDER is recruiting a cohort of teacher residents for the Monterey County Teacher Residency. This is an innovative and affordable pathway to a full-time teaching career in our community. Residents earn their Master’s Degree and Teaching Credential in just one year through the Alder Graduate School of Education, while joining a supportive, mentor-based program with an emphasis on social justice and equity. After the year of successful residency, graduates receive priority hiring as King City Union School District teachers.

$43,800 Living stipend (Residents are not employees of the school)
Up to $10,000 in Alder Tuition scholarships
Master's Degree and Credential upon completions of the program
Priority hiring for a full-time position at the school of residency
REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
-Bachelor’s degree completed by the end of July 2025
-A grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on the last 60 semester or 90 quarter units is preferred, under 3.0 GPA should still apply (If your GPA is under 2.65 you may appeal and provide more context. GPA under 2.0 are not eligible for this program.
-Eligible to work in the United States, US citizenship

Single Subject Math, Science, and ELA
Special Education Mild/Moderate TK-8
Multiple Subject TK-5
KEY ADMISSIONS DATES:
