Requirements / Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. • Must have an AA degree or higher or at least 48 semester units of General Education or pass an Assessment Test. • One year of experience working with children in an educational, therapeutic, or child care setting. • Completion of specialized training in the area of instructional services, psychology or guidance is highly desirable. REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION INCLUDE: • Possession of or ability to obtain a valid First Aid and CPR certificate. • Knowledge of First Aid and CPR; general concepts of child growth, development, and child behavior characteristics. • Knowledge of strategies used in managing and motivating students with behavioral, motivational and social emotional needs. • Knowledge of behavior modification techniques with or without the presence of certificated team member • Knowledge of Individualized Educational Program (IEP) goals and objectives for special education students. • Ability to assume responsibility for supervising students. • Ability to be flexible in making quick changes in daily lessons for individual or total group. • Ability to prepare clear, accurate and concise records and reports. • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents and others encountered in the course of work. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
