Job Summary

SLCUSD is seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist for our Student Services team. The current vacancy is for an assignment that is 24 hours per week, Tuesday through Friday. Occupational Therapists at SLCUSD provide educationally related occupational therapy services to students with various disabilities according to the student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP), and perform related duties as assigned.

License or Certificate: A valid license issued by the California Board of Occupational Therapy, and registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association certifying clinical competence as a Registered Occupational Therapist. Also, possession of a valid California driver license.

      Start date will be October or early November, contingent upon fingerprint and TB clearances, and completion of all required pre-employment tasks. Position location is to be determined, but will be within the District (San Luis Obispo, Los Osos, and/or Morro Bay). Occupational Therapists are assigned by Student Services and may serve more than one site. QUALIFICATION PROCEDURE: The District application covering relevant knowledge, skills, abilities and experience will be evaluated on a job-related basis to determine qualifications for the position. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications in order to be eligible for hire. Candidates who pass application screening will receive an email notification with next steps in the recruitment process. SPECIAL NOTES: 1) Correctly filling out forms and following other instructions contained in this notice are part of the testing process. 2) Applicants with disabilities need to notify the Personnel Office of any special needs so that adequate preparation may be made for their testing. 3) Veterans qualifying for the oral board examination may receive 5 additional points added to their final score if proof of discharge is submitted at time of oral board interview. A "veteran" as used here means any person who served in the United States armed forces or National Guard in time of war or national emergency. 4) Eligibility lists are established for a period of six months. *Qualification notices will be emailed from this system.
