Under the supervision of an administrator and as part of a case management team, provides transition services for paroled, probation, or incarcerated individuals; provides recordkeeping, instructional assistance, and interaction and communication with clients, staff, parole agents, probation officers, and other agencies.

This office is establishing an open eligibility list for the Re-entry Transition Specialist job classification. This program provides transition services in order to increase the success of paroled, on probation, or incarcerated adults or youth. Any full-time, part-time, or limited-term positions at our various SCOE locations (Yuba, Placer, Yolo, and Sacramento Counties) may be filled from this eligibility list. PLEASE NOTE: This position requires an additional clearance process and verification of minimum qualifications from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) The CDCR minimum qualifications for this position are as follows: 1) an AA or an AS degree from a granting institution accredited by the WASC, or equivalent, and a minimum of two (2) years of experience working with the criminal justice population; or 2) a high school diploma, or its equivalent, and a minimum of four (4) years of experience working in a similar position with the criminal justice population. NOTE: “Additional Questions” are included in the application form and will be used in the initial screening process. Applicants considered most qualified by a screening panel will continue in the selection process. It is in your best interest to answer these questions as fully as possible. EXAM PROCESS Qualified applicants who pass screening process will receive a notice indicating the next steps in the process, which is a written exam.
